Issue

  • Why it is possible to save the mandatory Language field without any value?
  • Steps to reproduce:
    1) Navigate to Control Panel > Object > Objects
    2) Create a custom Object
    3) Create a Text field
    4) View this field
    5) Change the type from Text to any type not related to the text (e.g. Date)
    6) Change the type to Long Text or Rich Text
    7) Save the changes
Expected Behavior: The mandatory field Language is preset with 'English (United States)'. It should not be possible to save the field with the mandatory Language field empty.
Observed Behavior: The mandatory field Language is empty and is possible to save the changes.

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.4

Resolution

  • The observed behavior is a known DXP concern that is being addressed by LPS-173349.
