Issue

  • I am encountering the inability to upload a database or volume TGZ file using the Backup Service's restore functionality in the Liferay SaaS Console.

Environment

  • Liferay SaaS Console's Backup Service

Resolution

  • After the backup service has been updated to 4.2.0+, only GZ files are supported for downloads and uploads. Versions before 4.2.0 have download and upload for DB as TGZ.
  • Changes in Backup Service (starting in 4.2.0) limits downloads and uploads to GZ.
  • The suggestion is to ensure that the Production environment's Backup Service can be updated to version 4.2.0+, and to download the latest backup that is generated for the database.
