Issue

  • When a custom canonical URL is configured on a HTML page, running themeDisplay.getCanonicalURL() in the browser console returns the friendly URL instead.

Environment

  • Analytics Cloud

Resolution

  • The getCanonicalUrl function is defined here.

  • This method is not expected to read the URL from the HTML page. It utilizes the page’s friendly URL along with the SEO settings on the page itself and the SEO settings in System Settings.
