Should the download option in the Documents and Media widget be displayed immediately?

Issue

  • Users are experiencing difficulties downloading PDFs from the Documents and Media Portlet.
  • Steps to reproduce
    1) Create a Documents and Media Portlet on the Home Page
    2) Upload a PDF and other files
    3) Log-out
    4) Assume to be a new user and try to download the PDF by clicking on it.
    5) The download option does not appear immediately after clicking on the PDF's Filename, instead, it appears after clicking 'Info.'
    Expected Behavior: The download button should be visible to users when the preview is loaded.
    Observed Behavior: The download option is not immediately visible.

  • Liferay DXP 7.2

Resolution

  • The Liferay DXP's observed behavior is considered a feature request, which can be tracked here: LPS-145605
