Remove the Site Name and Portal Name from the Browser Title

Issue

  • While hovering the mouse on a browser tab of any page, it displays the "Page Name - Site Name - Portal Name".
  • How to remove the Portal Name part from it?

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.4

Resolution

  • Create the com.liferay.layout.seo.internal.configuration.LayoutSEOGeneralGroupConfiguration.config configuration file in {liferay_home}/osgi/configs
  • Specify the below configuration property in the above-created file. 
    showOnlyLayoutTitle="true"

  • However, this feature has been planned for future releases, hence, the feature will be included in the Q4 release of 2024. Kindly see here: LPD-4421
  • Navigate to System settings-> SEO-> Site scope-> General and disable both checkboxes:
