Issue

  • I followed the guide Setting the Default Landing Page in Liferay Portal, to set up the default Landing Page, but it doesn't work with a Custom Page.
  • Even though I followed the given steps, users are directed to the default Home Page after SAML authentication, not to the Custom Page we configured.

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.3+

Resolution

  • To address this, a workaround involves modifying the SAML login URL by appending the "redirect" parameter to direct users to a specified custom page (e.g., /web/custom-page).
    • Identify the Custom Landing Page: Choose the page where users should land post-login (e.g., /web/custom-page).
    • Modify the Login URL: Append the "redirect" parameter to the SAML login URL to direct users to the custom page: /c/portal/login?redirect=/web/custom-page.
