Issue

  • When using publications and collaborating with other users. The link shared via publication email does not select the publication that needs reviewing/collaboration. The user needs to manually select the publication from the list of publications.

  • If there are many publications that a user is working on, it makes differentiating which publication needs work difficult.

Environment

  • 2025.Q1+

Resolution

  • This has been determined to be the expected behavior. The publication is not automatically selected because only users with edit permission will be able to select and work in the publication.
  • A user with the Viewer role is only able to view the changes in the Publication. They cannot check out the publication and browse around the site to see the changes live. They can only see the changes through the Review Changes page in the Publications portlet.
  • When users click on the shareable or email link, they should be taken directly to the publication that needs to be reviewed.
  • Here, the users can review the changes for the publication. If they have the edit permission and need to make changes in the publication, they can click on the 3 dots menu in the toolbar and select “Work on Publication”.
  • This behavior is not as intuitive as can be for end-users, so there has been a created feature request to potentially implement this option: LPD-62303.
