Polls Portlet Missing from DXP 7.3 and above

Issue

  • I am unable to locate Polls portlet in Liferay DXP 7.3 and 7.4.
  • Could you please confirm that those Liferay versions support Polls? If so, how can we enable it?

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.3+

Resolution

  • According to Digital Experience Platform 7.3 Deprecated and Archived Items, the Polls Widget has been Deprecated and this is the reason why you are unable to locate it in 7.3+ versions.
  • What we can suggest is to explore the use of Forms instead of Polls, as Forms has taken the place of Polls in 7.3 and onwards.

Additional Information

  • Migration of Polls data to Forms should be an automatic process during the upgrade. Following the upgrade, in 7.3+, you should be able to see your old Polls data as it was in 7.2, but now as Forms.
