Issue

  • When we search the latter part of the string in options, the search is not displayed anything. For e.g., "FuelType" and "ClutchType" are the options and in search, if we type "Fuel" for searching then the "FuelType" option is shown but not with the Type i.e. last expression of the String.
  • It is working perfectly fine in SKUs search but not in option search.

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.3
  • Commerce 3.0

Resolution

  • The observed behavior is intended behavior with the option search.
  • On the other hand in the case of SKUs, it is working fine the reason behind this SKUs can be long and hard to remember, e.g. UGG-BB-PUR-06, and operators may only remember a part of the SKU (e.g. PUR-006) but not the first expression of words. Or they may want to identify all the SKUs that have a certain string within them.

Additional Information

  • To overcome the option search problem, options might be created with space between the two strings. For options like "FuelType", it can be created as "Fuel Type". And, with "type" string search it will show the options.
