Issue

  • I am currently running a Liferay cluster.
  • I patched my OS then rebooted each server separately.
  • One more more nodes came back online correctly, but at least one node isn't starting up completely, and I see messages like this in the logs (this WARN will only show up if you're below Liferay version 2024.Q3.5 and LPD-33553 isn't installed):
WARN  [jgroups,liferay-channel-control][JGroupsReceiver] Unable to deserialize message payload
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.liferay.portal.cache.internal.dao.orm.EntityCacheImpl

Environment

  • DXP 7.4
  • Quarterly releases

Resolution

  • A complete restart (shutting down all nodes, clearing the cache folders, and restarting the cluster) will usually resolve the issue, and all nodes will rejoin the cluster.
  • If this does not resolve the issue, please open a help center ticket and provide the steps you've taken and full startup logs from each node.
