Issue

  • When working with assets such as 'Web Content', the details always include the friendly URL. The concern now is that this friendly URL contains a hyphen (-) that requires to be removed.

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.4

Resolution

  • The observed URL with a hyphen is the expected behavior of the DXP. Liferay requires the hyphen to determine where the page's friendly URL ends and the portlet's friendly URL begins. Therefore, the hyphen cannot be removed from the URLs.

Additional Information

  • Users can always consider changing the functionality by customization, modifying the path XML, or using URL filters (Friendly URLs – Liferay Help Center)
  • Please note that in the case of customizations, the assistance is provided by a different channel called "Global Services Team" which can be reached by a Sales representative.
