Issue

  • When we disabled the form field using the 'Form Rule', it disabled the fields for the specific user who did not fit the provided role or did not match the criteria. For other users who do not fit the same role or criteria, the field remains disabled.
  • Consequently, when the other user fills out the form, the value of the disabled field is not saved or stored in the form's 'View Entries' and  in the database.

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.4 and above

Resolution

  • This is the intended behavior of Liferay.
  • As of now, there is no OOB (out-of-the-box) way to save the disabled field value in the 'View Entries' and in the database
  • As a result, a feature request has been created. The feature request can be tracked here: LPD-19403
