Issue

  • How to set up a native authentication feature for the existing elastic search setup?

Environment

  • Elasticsearch 2.x
  • Elasticsearch 5.x

Resolution

  • The Native user authentication comes when there is a Shield Plugin installed and from Elasticsearch version 5.0 onward, Shield is part of X-Pack. Please go through the below Elasticsearch documentation for more information for additional setup.
