Issue

  • After removing a deployable module, some of its data can persist despite clearing the cache which includes the osgi/state folder, and all temp and work directories.
  • For example, after removing a custom theme, its JavaScript files get merged into the ComboJS URL:
    /combo?browserId=other&minifierType=js&languageId=en_US

Environment

  • DXP 7.0 - 7.4

Resolution

  • Cache is not completely cleared until the server is restarted.
  • By default, Liferay uses in-memory ehcache in combo servlet. Unless a custom configuration is made to ehcache to persist cache, restarting the server should be the next and last step after clearing cache files.
