Issue

  • How to make certain pages to be accessible only via specific IPs.

Environment

  • Liferay DXP [all versions]

Resolution

  • In order to allow certain pages to be accessible via specific IPs, users can perform configuration changes via the Web Server (Nginx) level.
  • Below is the configuration that needs to be added to the nginx.conf file.

    location /web/guest/cp1 {

    allow 192.168.xx.xxx; # Allow access to this IP
    deny all; # Deny access from all other IPs

    proxy_pass http://tomcat;
    proxy_set_header Host $http_host;

    }
  • Note: cp1 is the name of the page, and /web/guest/cp1 is the path of the page.
