Log4j warnings and error on startup after upgrading to Update 36

Issue

  • After upgrading Liferay DXP 7.3 to Update 36, the following warnings and error are printed in the logs on startup:
    log4j:WARN Continuable parsing error 3 and column 30
    log4j:WARN Document root element "Configuration", must match DOCTYPE root "null".
    log4j:WARN Continuable parsing error 3 and column 30
    log4j:WARN Document is invalid: no grammar found.
    log4j:ERROR DOM element is - not a <log4j:configuration> element.

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.3

Resolution

  • The observed behavior is a known issue addressed by LPD-36469.
  • Please create a Support ticket requesting a hotfix that includes this solution to resolve the problem.
