Issue
- Liferay's OpenID Connect implementation does not account for language variations for
ui_locales. For example, Selecting English (United States) on Liferay sets ui_locales to en. Selecting Chinese (either Traditional or Simplified) sets ui_locales to zh.
- In this example, we would expect English (United Staters) to set
en-US, Chinese (Taiwan) to zh-Hant and Chinese (China) to zh-Hans.
Resolution
- This is currently a limitation, but Feature Request LPD-23985 indicates that this is aligned with Liferay's Product Roadmap.
- The feature is being investigated in LPD-24297 and will be released in a future version at the discretion of Liferay Product Team.
