Issue

  • We are trying to move documents from one environment to another environment using the Documents and Media menu.
  • We managed to export the documents from Production environment correctly, but when they were imported into the QA environment, it was throwing the following error:
An unexpected error occurred with the publication process. Check your publishing and portal settings.
model.resource.com.liferay.portal.repository.liferayrepository.model.LiferayFileEntry: Virtual Act: Infrastructure Board Committee. Session N° 03_2021 could not be imported due to the following error: Invalid file name Virtual Act: Infrastructure Board Committee. Session N° 03_2021.pdf

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.1

Resolution

  • A file name cannot contain any of the following characters: \ / : * ? " < > |.
  • The file Virtual Act: Infrastructure Board Committee. Session N° 03_2021.pdf contains the invalid character :, and for that reason, you are getting the Invalid file name error message.
  • Please delete this file from Documents and Media temporarily, change the name by removing the : character, and then upload it back to the portal.
  • In this way, it will be possible to carry out the export/import of the documents.
