Issue

  • Is there any option to bring down the production server manually? as there is an option only to restart the service

Environment

  • Liferay Cloud

Resolution

  • There are no ready-made options to bring production down. However, below are the options to simulate a production going down:

    1. Domain level
DNS: Removing the A record of the custom domain using DNS tool
DXPC: Maintaining the DNS the way it is, but removing the entry from the Custom Domain tab

    2. Service level
Deletion: Remove the webserver service and deploy again later on

    3. Code level
Probe: Adjusting the probes to hit a non-existent URL, that way the service would never go up. The code level option is a good, painless option.
