Issue

  • The issue revolves around the configuration of friendly URLs in the web content. Customers have reported difficulties with the inclusion of friendly URLs in the sitemap.xml. The challenge lies in determining whether specific friendly URLs can be selectively hidden.

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.0+
  • Liferay PaaS 7.0+

Resolution

  • Yes, it is possible to hide friendly URLs from the sitemap. Just need to follow the steps below:

    1. Navigate to the Document and Page Templates (DPT) associated with the Web Content.
    2. Click on the ellipsis menu in the DPT.
    3. Select "Configure" from the menu.
    4. Choose the "SEO" option.
    5. In the "Sitemap" section, use the dropdown menu under "Include" and select "No" to exclude the specific friendly URLs from the sitemap.
