Is it feasible to customize the form builder UI with custom validations?

Resolution

The way to add custom validations for data type would be from the backend by implementing the 'DDMFormFieldValueValidator' interface in the same way as for example 'NumericDDMFormFieldValueValidator' does https://github.com/liferay/liferay-portal/blob/7.3.x/modules/apps/dynamic-data-mapping/dynamic-data-mapping-api/src/main/java/com/liferay/dynamic/data/mapping/form/field/type/DDMFormFieldValueValidator.java
Unfortunately, adding custom validations to the form builder interface is not currently possible.
It is, however, a feature that will be available in version 7.4 of the product and has been improved over time: LPS-131626.
