Issue
- Is Adobe Flash Supported? There is no information about it in the Support Matrix.
Environment
- Liferay DXP 7.0
- Liferay DXP 7.1
- Liferay DXP 7.2
Resolution
-
We have no official stance on Adobe Flash, it can be used and shouldn't have any limitations with the portal. Furthermore, there are no security issue with Liferay's tomcat bundle, the security issues that Adobe Flash has are in the user's browsers.
-
Modern browsers have Flash disabled by default; users need to enable it manually which is not recommended.
- As per the above, even though Flash is usable, we would recommend to use using HTML5 and CSS3 instead.
