Issue
- Tomcat Manager is a native application in the default Tomcat bundle but is not included in the Liferay Bundle
- You need to add Tomcat Manager
Environment
Resolution
Follow this steps to install Tomcat manager in the existent Liferay Bundle.
- Download a Tomcat server from https://tomcat.apache.org/download-90.cgi
- Unzip the file and copy the folder webapps/manager to [LIFERAY_HOME]/tomcat-9.x.x/webapps
- Edit file [LIFERAY_HOME]/tomcat-9.x.x/conf/tomcat-users.xml and add the following lines in the tag tomcat-users
<role rolename="manager-gui"/>
<role rolename="manager-jmx"/>
<role rolename="manager-script"/>
<role rolename="manager-status"/>
<role rolename="tomcat"/>
<user password="tomcat" roles="tomcat,manager-gui,manager-script,manager-jmx,manager-status" username="tomcat"/>
- Start Liferay
- Open the URL http[s]://<server>:<port>/manager/html/ and try to login using default 'tomcat' credentials as user/password
