I cannot reinstall Marketplace applications in the App Manager

Issue

  1. I have issues with a Marketplace app, so I try to reinstall it
  2. I uninstall the App through the UI (from Control Panel > Apps > App Manager)
  3. I purchase the App again from the Marketplace (Apps > Store)
  4. Once it is Purchased, I click the Install button next to the App

Result: I get an error: "Your request failed to complete"

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.1+

Resolution

  • During the uninstallation of a Liferay module or app, it will become "blacklisted" and this will prevent the module from installing and being enabled.

  • In order to reinstall, remove the blacklisted modules under Control Panel > Configuration > System Settings > Module Container > Blacklist Bundle Symbolic Names.
