Issue
- Unable to complete important tasks due to validation issues.
Environment
- Liferay DXP 7.2
Resolution
-
There are some useful settings under: System Settings > Infrastructure > VIRTUAL INSTANCE SCOPE > Export/Import
When a user encounters a validation error that prevents them from accomplishing anything important, then, turning some of these off can be a good resolution (even temporarily).
As a result, the data can be imported/published while the missing references are manually validated.- Validate File Entries, Validate Journal Feed References, Validate Layout References: Validation for referred entries can be skipped.
- Validate Missing References: This option can be disabled, which means that missing references will not be examined before import or publication. However, as some of these missing references are actually required to import specific entities effectively, this does not guarantee a successful import. Otherwise, in some cases, this is the only option. For example, when sites are circularly referencing each other's content.
- Delete temporary LAR during a failed staging publish process and Delete temporary LAR during a successful staging publish process: Disable these options to keep the LAR files that are sent to (local or remote) live during the publishing process. Since the user examines the actual LAR files to see what things are sent, these can help in troubleshooting specific use-cases.
