Issue

  • My Liferay Docker Image is giving a warning message that the Activation Key needs to be updated:
ERROR [fileinstall-directory-watcher][LicenseManager:?] DXP Development license is expired
  • We have noticed that the Liferay DXP Trial key is still being processed despite us deploying non-trial licenses into the container on startup

Environment

  • Quarterly Releases
  • DXP 7.4
  • DXP 7.3
  • DXP 7.2
  • DXP 7.1
  • DXP 7.0

Resolution

  • The trial license can be disabled in a Liferay Docker Image by setting the environment variable LIFERAY_DISABLE_TRIAL_LICENSE=true, following the directions in this documentation on using Liferay env variables (please note that variables may be case-sensitive).
    • For example, adding the -e LIFERAY_DISABLE_TRIAL_LICENSE=true parameter to the docker start or run command will prevent the Trial license from being deployed, allowing the non-trial key to be used instead.
