Issue
- I want to implement the Google Site Verification via meta tag in Liferay, but after adding the Google-provided meta tag data to my site through Custom Meta Tags, the verification is still failing.
Environment
- Liferay Quarterly Releases
Resolution
- Liferay does not currently offer an out-of-the-box option to implement Google Site Verification via a
<meta name> tag. The Custom Meta Tags field adds tags using the property attribute, whereas Google specifically requires the name attribute for verification.
- To implement Google Site Verification on Liferay, please use one of the other verification methods provided by Google or add the meta tag to your site through a custom theme.
