Issue

  • When starting the server, multiple messages similar to the following are logged, indicating failed module installations (typically after an upgrade):
2024-11-19 10:05:39.082 ERROR [main][ModuleFrameworkImpl:1002] Unable to install bundle at file:/liferay/liferay-dxp/osgi/portal/com.liferay.fragment.entry.processor.api.jar
org.osgi.framework.BundleException: A bundle is already installed with the name "com.liferay.fragment.entry.processor.api" and version "10.0.0"

Environment

Resolution

  • This is a common scenario when you have not cleared $LIFERAY_HOME/osgi/state directory after an upgrade.
  • Simply clear that directory and try again.
