Issue

  • Our form is not sending automatic reply emails. The following error is present in the console logs
"Unable to send message: Authentication unsuccessful, user password has expired."

Environment

  • Liferay Quarterly Release

Resolution

  • This error indicates that the SMTP user password has expired. 
  • Update the user password by navigating to Control Panel > Instance Settings > Email > Mail Settings and changing the password in the password field.
