Issue

  • ETAG response header is missing on a page.

Environment

  • DXP 7.1

Resolution

If a page contains at least one non-cacheable portlet, - such as Asset Publisher -, the ETAG response header is not added by design.

The condition whether a portlet is cacheable or not is determined by the com.liferay.portlet.layout-cacheable property.
For example, the property by default is set to true for JournalContentPortlet (on the UI, referred as Web Content Display) and HelloWorldPortlet, but not defined - and therefore set by default as false - for AssetPublisherPortlet.

Any non-cacheable portlet on the page prevents adding the ETAG header to the response.
