Issue
- When trying to upload a document with required fields by WebDAV, the following error is shown: "Error while copying file": There was an error copy the file into dav://localhost:8080/webdav/guest/document_library/Folder
Resolution
- This is the expected result when a folder allows only a document type with a required field, it cannot be uploaded via WebDAV. However, there is a way to make this work. As long as the required field is not a boolean, a predefined value can be added to the field that is required. When there is a predefined value, upon upload via WebDAV Liferay will populate the field with whatever is set in the predefined value and complete the upload.
