Issue

  • There is a web content article with a direct link to a document/asset in our Liferay instance. After clicking on it, and visiting the Assets > Documents and Media tab, the downloaded document is not visible.

Environment

  • Analytics Cloud

Resolution

  • This is the expected behavior. Analytics Cloud receives the message if it is sent from the Liferay instance. Currently, for assets, the tracking data is sent if the OOTB Download button is used (see this article for further information).
  • Direct links can be called from anywhere, and it cannot be expected just by using a link the
    kind of data that should be sent to Analytics Cloud.
  • In order to change this, you need to add the HTML properties and create your own JavaScript code to run when the link is clicked that will send the properties to Analytics Cloud.
