Issue
- Unable to see the video after attaching it to the widget.
-
Steps to reproduce:
1) Create a New Site
2) Create a blank page with the name: Video
3) Drop the Content Display widget.
4) Attach a video file to this widget, mainly a video that is already in the Documents & Media portlet
Expected Behavior: The user should be able to see the video after attaching it.
Observed Behavior: The widget goes blank and users cannot see the video.
Resolution
- The observed behavior is the intended behavior of the Liferay DXP since the Content Display never contains specific logic to preview file types. Once users map the content display to a specific content document, they have to choose the Template to show it.
- Liferay only provides basic templates for D&M and because of that, users would need to create a Template to preview the video.
