Issue
- We noticed that a certain category disappeared from production.
- How can we find it or restore it?
Resolution
- Depending on your log level settings, your logs may show when and how it was deleted. You can find out more about log levels in the following article: Configuring Logging.
If the logs were set to the highest level (ALL) for the categories, it is worth checking the logs when the category was deleted.
- You can also try to collaborate internally to see if anyone removed the category by chance.
- Check your QA environment if the category is still available.
If it is, it can be exported and imported into your production environment. That would ensure that the category is connected to the different elements/assets.
