Build Failure Due to Duplicate Client Extension ID

Issue

  • When attempting to build the Liferay project, the build fails with the following error message:

> Task :client-extensions:liferay-sample-custom-element-1:validateClientExtensionIds FAILED
FAILURE: Build failed with an exception.* What went wrong:
Execution failed for task ':client-extensions:liferay-sample-custom-element-1:validateClientExtensionIds'.
> Duplicate client extension ID "liferay-sample-custom-element-1" found in these projects:
  client-extensions/liferay-sample-custom-element-1
  client-extensions/liferay-sample-custom-element-2

Environment

  • Liferay PaaS 

Resolution

  • This error is caused by duplicate client extension IDs within the project.
  • Check the client extensions in your project directory for duplicate IDs as indicated in the error message.
  • Resolve any duplicate IDs and build the project again.
