Blank page with “No Group exists with the key {companyId=0, groupKey=Guest}” error in log

Issue

  • After restarting portal, the page turns into a blank page.
  • The following error is reported in the log:

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.1

Resolution

  • The possible causes of the issue are corrupted index or Elasticsearch connection issue.
  • If you are using Elasticsearch in embedded mode, please back up the $LIFERAY_HOME/data/elasticsearch6 folder, remove it and restart the server. The elasticsearch6 folder will be recreated during the restart process. Please be sure to re-index all search index after the blank page issue is resolved.
  • If you are using Elasticsearch in remote mode, please check your log to see if a similar error like the following was reported before “No Group exists with the key {companyId=0, groupKey=Guest}” error. If the error exists, please resolve the Elasticsearch connection issue first, for example, make sure the Elasticsearch node is available at "xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:9300" as displayed in the log, then the “No Group exists" error will be resolved after that.
