Issue
- After upgrading to U78+ you might encounter a behavior where the Audit portlet is only available for Administrators, whereas before U78 you could create a regular role with access to it
- The reason behind this change is that the behavior where any regular Role could access the Audit portlet which has permission was faulty and raised security concerns
- The Audit portlet has sensitive information that needs protection from any non-admin user
Resolution
- An export option has been added to the Audit portlet, so an Administrator can use that to share the data with any personnel who need it.
- This feature request is being assessed by the Product Team to consider having another approach other than strictly restricting the Audit portlet to admins. You can inquire about its status here: https://liferay.dev/ask/questions/feature-requests/audit-portlet-is-only-available-for-administrators
