Issue

  • After moving to a newer update, UI elements are misaligned or not displaying properly

Environment

  • This was observed in a recent case where a Liferay DXP 7.4 Update 47 environment was migrated to the 2023 Quarterly Release (2023.Q3.1)

Resolution

  • Some elements within the environment may be cached from the previous patch level, so please try the following troubleshooting steps
    • In case there are any cached files within the browser, please try a hard refresh on the page experiencing this behavior
      • Windows/Linux - CTRL + SHIFT + R (Chrome/Firefox)
      • MacOS - COMMAND + SHIFT + R (Chrome/Firefox) or COMMAND + OPTION + R (Safari)
    • In case there are any conflicting files from the previous patch level, please clear the temporary directories on your Liferay environment:
      • Shut down your server
      • Clear the contents of ${liferay.home}/osgi/state
      • Clear your application server's temporary directories (e.g., in Tomcat, clear the contents of the "temp" and "work" directories)
      • Restart and check to see if the behavior persists
