Issue

  • JavaMail properties defined in the field Manually specify additional JavaMail properties to override the above configuration are not being considered.

Environment

  • Liferay 7.0+

Resolution

  • Each property should be stated in a separate line.
  • Property statement should follow the syntax expected by java.util.Properties#load(Reader).
  • Make sure that the name of the JavaMail properties do not include the prefix mail.session. used to define the same properties via portal.properties.
    • That section in portal.properties states that:
      The property prefix "mail.session." will be removed before it is used to create the session object.
