'Your request failed to complete' while saving the values of Mail settings under Instance settings

Issue

Issue while saving the values entered for mail settings under instance settings wherein the values do not get saved and the error says: 'Your request failed to complete'.Steps to reproduce:
1. Start the clean instance of Liferay DXP 2024.Q1.7
2. Navigate to Instance settings->Email->Mail settings->Enter the values and then click Save.
3. Check the Liferay logs for the error that prints:
"2024-05-22 13:52:16.564 ERROR [http-nio-8080-exec-1][SimpleCaptchaImpl:417] CAPTCHA text is null. User 20122 may be trying to circumvent the CAPTCHA."
Actual Results: The values are not getting saved and the error prompts as 'Your request failed to complete'.
Expected Results: The values should be saved successfully.

  • Liferay DXP 2024 Q1.7
  • Liferay DXP 2024 Q1.9

Resolution

  • This behavior has been addressed via LPD-25555

Additional Information

  • Always upgrade the DXP to the latest update to achieve the expected behavior: Upgrade Basics
