Issue
- I am running Liferay on JBoss EAP 7.4.18.GA and I want to upgrade from Java 11 to Java 17. The following error is output when I try to start my Liferay bundle.
"WFLYDM0145: The resource 'security-realm' is unsupported since Java 14"
Environment
- Liferay 2024.Q2.9 on JBoss EAP 7.4.18 with Java 17
Resolution
- Start-up is failing as legacy security settings are used that are not compatible with Java 17
- Refer to official Red Hat documentation to see how the standalone.conf file needs to be modified to use Elytron for Java 17 compatibility.
