Issue

When we search for for example a Poll ABC, the Poll is not found and in logs we will have ERROR like this:
Unable to get search result view URL for class com.liferay.polls.model.PollsQuestion with primary key ....

Environment

  • DXP 7.0
  • DXP 7.1
  • DXP 7.2

Resolution

Background: Polls are not searchable by design. The reason behind, PollsQuestion is not part of the Asset Framework, which is a requirement for entities to be searchable and displayable correctly in the Search widgets.

These error messages can be removed by excluding PollsQuestion from the search. The workaround below requires a maintenance window due the connection loss between DXP and the search server.

This applies to any entities that do not support the Asset Framework.

Steps
1/ Go to System Settings > Search > Engine Helper
2/ Add a new "Excluded Entry Class Names" field with content com.liferay.polls.model.PollsQuestion, save
3/ Go to Apps > App Manager
4/ Search for "Liferay Portal Search", deactivate then activate again this bundle, to let the System Settings change take effect
Note: you should wait until all dependent bundles are fully stopped before re-activating the Portal Search module.
Alternatively, you can restart the server.
