Issue
- Some team members had to go into the 'Current Assets' asset library and re-version some files that needed updating. After re-versioning the files, when Person A went to download the files to see how their changes looked for the customers, they were downloading the previous version of the file.
Environment
- Liferay SaaS
- Liferay PaaS
- Liferay Quarterly Release
Resolution
- Check if "Current Assets" is configured to allow caching? By default, Documents and Media files are not cached. However, if caching is enabled for this specific Asset Library and the users have different cache settings or are using different browsers, they might experience inconsistencies. Check the cache control settings for the "Current Assets" library in Instance Settings/System Settings > Documents and Media > Cache Control. If caching is enabled, try temporarily disabling it to see if the issue persists. Also, verify the configured "Max Age" for cached documents to understand how long the content is considered fresh.
