Issue

When you try to execute the patching-tool, the following errors show up:
$ sh ./patching-tool.sh
patching-tool.sh: 13: [: unexpected operator
patching-tool.sh: 13: [: unexpected operator
patching-tool.sh: 13: [: unexpected operator
patching-tool.sh: 22: Bad substitution
Resolution
- These errors are usually due to using a wrong command interpreter.
- The
patching-tool.sh script is written with the BASH command interpreter nomenclature, which could be incompatible with other interpreters (like DASH).
- To execute without error the patching-tool you could use these options:
$ /patching-tool.sh
$ bash ./patching-tool.sh
