Deploying Liferay SAML Connector in Liferay SaaS

Note: please note that Liferay has renamed its Liferay Experience Could offerings to Liferay SaaS (formerly LXC) and Liferay PaaS (formerly LXC-SM).

Issue

  • After deploying the SAML connector plugin from Marketplace (the .lpkg file) by putting it into the Deploy folder, the Liferay log displays some errors and advises that a restart is needed to finish the deployment.
    The portal instance needs to be restarted to complete the installation of .../Liferay%20Connector%20to%20SAML%202.0%20-%20API.lpkg

Environment

  • Liferay SaaS
  • Liferay DXP 7.2

Resolution

  • If you are using the stack 3, put the .lpkg file into: 
    /lcp/liferay/deploy/common/osgi/marketplace/
  • If you are using the stack 4, put the .lpkg file into: 
    liferay/configs/common/osgi/marketplace/
  • You will probably need to create the osgi and the marketplace folders. Go ahead and create these folders if they do not already exist.
