Issue

  • The Custom Meta Tags feature does not include a name attribute, but instead uses the property attribute.
  • There's a key difference between the name and property attributes in meta tags.
  • The name attribute is typically used to define general metadata about a webpage, such as description, keywords, author, and viewport settings.
  • However, the property attribute is mainly used with the Open Graph protocol, which is commonly supported by social media platforms like Facebook and LinkedIn for better content sharing and representation.
  • Is the property attribute of the current Custom Meta Tags feature similar to the name attribute?

Environment

  • Quarterly Release

Resolution

  • The Custom Meta Tags feature exclusively supports the addition of meta tags using theproperty attribute, as it was specifically designed for the Open Graph protocol.
  • Currently, there isn't a similar tool available for name or other meta tag attributes.
  • However, for Description, Keywords, Canonical, Robots, and Sitemap meta tags, the SEO section of the page can be utilized.
