Issue

  • Until now, the property 'users.reminder.queries.enabled' has been set to true or false per instance. However, after version DXP 7.3, the user is no longer able to do so (as the per-instance property file mechanism does not work anymore)

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.3

Resolution

  • Using the per-instance property files functionality, it was able to set specific portal properties on a per-instance basis up until version DXP 7.2. However, this feature has been removed since DXP 7.3, and it still seems that such properties can still be configured per instance by moving them to Control Panel/Instance Settings as needed. One such impacted property is the users.reminder.queries.enabled portal property, which is referred to in the article.

  • The reminder query-related options can be added to the instance/system settings, possibly under 'Users.' This will allow users to change the configuration per instance without affecting the functionality.
  • Liferay 7.3 DXP SP3 includes this feature.
