You are viewing an article from our legacy "FastTrack" publication program, made available for informational purposes. Articles in this program were published without a requirement for independent editing or verification and are provided"as is" without guarantee.

Before using any information from this article, independently verify its suitability for your situation and project.

This article is a legacy article. It applies to previous versions of the Liferay product. While the article is no longer maintained, the information may still be applicable.

This article documents a known issue where administrators may receive the message "Updates are available for Liferay. Click here to open the Update Manager for details"- even when all plugins are already up to date.

Resolution

This occurs because hooks and portlets that are type "web" that do not have a liferay-plugin-package.xml file cause an update reminder to show after deployment.

To resolve the message, install the latest software updates for plugin-deployment from our latest downloads page.
