LCS Client removed after Fix Pack 12 installation (Known Issue)

Issue

  • Liferay Connected Services Client is missing after applying DXP-12
  • Where is Liferay Connected Services Client.lpkg?

Environment

  • DXP 7.1 + DXP-12 (Fix Pack 12)

Resolution

  • At the time of writing July 11th 2019, this is a known issue and is being actively addressed by our Engineering Teams
  • Liferay is bundled with the LCS Online Platform by default. Although Fix Pack releases do not contain applications like the LCS Client
  • Fix Pack 12 is required for the latest version of LCS Client to work with DXP 7.1

    For DXP 7.1 customers on Fix Pack 12 wanting to use the latest version of LCS Client

  • Go to Liferay Marketplace (link in Additional Information)
  • Download the Liferay Connected Services Client (Free)

  • Stop the server and place the downloaded Liferay Connected Services Client.lpkg file into the deploy folder: ${liferay.home}/deploy
  • Delete the state folder: ${liferay.home}/osgi/state
  • Restart the server
