Issue

  • Guidance on Setting Maximum File Upload Size and Allowed Extensions in Liferay 7.4 with the help of dl.file.max.size and dl.file.extensions properties.

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.4

Resolution

  • In Liferay DXP 7.4, the properties dl.file.max.size and dl.file.extensions have been deprecated. These settings can now be configured directly through the Liferay System Settings GUI.
  • Setting Maximum File Upload Size
    • Navigate to Control Panel > System Settings > Content and Data > Documents and Media > Document and Media Size Limits.
    • Locate Total Maximum File Size and set the desired file size limit.
    • Note: If the default value is 0, it allows unlimited file size
  • Setting Allowed File Extensions
    • Navigate to Control Panel > System Settings > Documents and Media > Services.
    • Locate File Extensions and specify the allowed file extensions for uploaded files.
    • Note: If the default setting is *, permit all file types for upload.
